I am Jose Manuel Saavedra Rondo, I was born in Trujillo, Peru. I obtained a PhD degree in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science, University of Chile (2013). In addition, I also received both, a Bachelor degree in Computer Science (2001) and a Master degree in Computer Science (2006) from National University of Trujillo, Peru. Currently, I work as a computer vision researcher at ORAND S.A (Chile). A complete version of my CV can be downloaded from here .

My areas of interest are:

Sketch-based image retrieval.
Image local descriptors.
Handwritten recognition.
Image pattern recognition.
Biometrics.
Local descriptor indexing.
Mutimedia event detection.

My thesis research is about Multi-sketch based image retrieval. My thesis proposal was accepted to be presented in the Doctoral Consortium at CVPR 2010 , in San Francisco, California, USA. My supervisor was Prof. Benjamin Bustos with whom I work in our PRISMA group.
