Research Areas

Polygon and polyhedron (Delaunay) meshing: improving refinement strategies, geometric representation and polygon/polyhedron partition algorithms, mainly for the control volume and virtual element methods. Development of flexible meshing tools following good object oriented practices.

GPU computing: developing new parallel Delaunay-update meshing algorithms and thread mapping functions for non-rectangular problems.

Computational science and engineering: meshing approaches extended/adapted and applied to the tracking of Brownian particles, searching for voids and clusters in astronomy surveys and optimization of the representation of hydrological response units in distributed hydrological models, among others.
