The network will increase the available bandwidth
Packet loss will continue to exist
Compression will still be needed
Existent encoders/decoders were developed for a different world (constant and low bandwidth, no loss)
Apply the same ideas but including packet loss
Constant bandwidth is not a reality: Internet variance and motion compression
